In Royalton, Tunbridge, Sharon and Strafford, residents voted to oppose the planned NewVistas settlement.
In Rutland, 10-year mayoral incumbent Chris Louras lost to David Allaire, a city alderman. Unofficial results show Allaire, a leading critic of the refugee resettlement plans Louras had championed, won by 776 votes. Richmond voters passed a resolution on Tuesday declaring the community to be one that welcomes all people, regardless of nationality, religion, skin color, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status or gender identity.In Burlington, voters mulled several contested races for seats on the city council.
