There was an interesting article in today’s NY Times about how the James Beard Foundation is struggling to bounce back from a 2004 scandal.

The article comes out just ahead of the James Beard Award ceremonies, which take place next Monday. A bunch of Vermonters will be there to see if they’re the big winners.

As winning a Beard — or at least getting a nomination — is one of my dreams, and I appreciate the foundation’s goals — albeit not always their execution — I hope that they can pull themselves out of the red.
