Angela Simpson is a proofreader at Seven Days. She also contributes to special publications such as the Holiday Gift Guide and creates the paper’s weekly news quiz and mini crossword puzzle. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Bates College and wrote her senior thesis about evolving views of madness in the criticism of William Shakespeare’s King Lear. (Lear was then, and remains, her least favorite Shakespearean play.) She worked in a bookstore after college and then in restaurant marketing for 20 years before joining Seven Days in 2022, where she has had to forget that she was ever a member of Team Oxford Comma.
