10/8/17: The Big Sit is an international event which brings bird lovers together to spend the day watching the skies and documenting bird species. The Birds of Vermont Museum in Huntington has been participating in this annual event for the past 14 years. This year a small group watched with binoculars from both inside the museum and outside, sheltered beneath a tent during the inclement weather. In the few hours Eva joined them, they observed Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers visiting the bird feeder and a Cooper’s Hawk soaring high.
