Last weekend eight local fiber artists displayed their work at the Heritage Winooski Mill Museum for Fiber Fair Friday. Visitors kicked off the holiday gift-buying season with colorful yarns, macramé jewelry, felted hats and a Peace & Justice Center table of fair trade work from around the world. The museum is located in the Champlain Mill and is part of the historic Winooski Falls Mill District in Winooski and Burlington. The organizers hope to celebrate the history of textiles in this area and connect to a more modern audience. This is the first event of its kind, and they hope to make it an annual one.
