Vermonters keep cool in the summer by visiting some of the ice-cold swimming holes scattered along the state’s rivers and creeks. Two weekends ago, Eva took a GoPro, her sister Margot and drone photographer James Buck on an adventure to three popular swimming spots in Lamoille County. They enjoyed refreshing dips at Jeff Falls (aka Irish Springs) and Brewster River Park in Jeffersonville and then stopped for a creemee at the Cupboard Delicatessen & Bakery. Alas, they were out of maple, but the trio persevered and headed on to the Journey’s End in Johnson to meet up with their friend Kyle Nuse and her family. After following Kyle on a 10-minute walk through the woods, they discovered a triple waterfall and a pool deep enough to jump into. The team cooled down in Foote Brook and then headed up the road to the Fledermaus Teahouse to warm up with hot tea and Austrian treats.

Is there nude swimming there?
You can be nude in public in Vermont
Bingham Falls is my favorite located in Stowe, VT
It would be nice to keep these places protected from media and more people-instead of spreading the locations on facebook or from journalists like this. The brook I grew up with is now littered with people, trash, drug dealers on a daily basis through warm weather days thanks to public blabber like this.
Stop exploiting and using beautiful places to earn you media time! Nobody is stuck anywhere these days, get out of Vermont if your feeling stuck. Your website is only doing damage to these beautiful places by advertising there locations. Some places stay majestic by being kept a secret. Get smart or stay out of nature.
Please stop posting where swim holes are- theyre being exploited! And folks wander onto/through private property in some cases, along with parking their cars illegally. Not everything needs to be on the internet!
Thanks for enjoying and highlighting a few of Vermont’s great swimming holes! Vermont River Conservancy is proud to partner in protecting public access to swimming holes all over Vermont. Please be considerate and responsible visitors by respecting land owners and neighbors, parking in legal areas only, and carrying out your trash.
