8/19/16: How does a street dog from Costa Rica wind up spending the summer at scenic Mt Philo in Vermont? Kim and John Frigault are two dog lovers who spend their summers working as Park Rangers at Mount Philo State Park in Charlotte. Their two rescue dogs, Philo and Seeger, travel with the pair to Costa Rica for the rest of the year.

Kim and Lisa LaFlam run the non-profit, Long Trail Canine Rescue. The two also founded Hope 4 a Street Dog in Junquillal, Costa Rica. The volunteer run organizations work together to find Vermont homes for over 100 dogs a year. Some lucky pooches travel here from down South and many take a longer journey from the streets of Costa Rica.

On Thursday, Eva met Bella Luna at Burlington International Airport, a tiny bundle of love who arrived by plane after a two day journey from Costa Rica. The next day, Eva took a trip to Mount Philo to reunite with Bella and to meet a large pack of LTCR rescues (and their humans).

A fundraiser is being held at Hotel Vermont on August 27th to support the organization.
