It’s gonna be a busy day for yours truly. First I have to do that trick where I pull a column out of my hat – or ass, depending on your politics – then I have to prepare for an interview with a local celebrity. I’d tell you who, but that’d spoil the fun, wouldn’t it?

Enjoy a few start o’ the workweek snippets:

Has Springsteen lost his mind, or did April 1 come early?

Here’s my official take on the new Of Montreal record, as published by Dusted. It’s a long-form review, and I happen to think it’s one of my better ones.

Our pals at Spitting Out Teeth continue their music/movie trivia contest/giveaway. Get yrselfs over there and win!

OK, time to spin words into gold. I might check in later….

Got something to say?

  1. well if you write up that mueller / kahn show on sunday, thatll take up some word count for you. just trying to help out. hahah!

  2. I’m on that mofo, yo!Sorry about the “urban” patois — I’ve been watching a shitload of The Wire.

  3. Excellent review of the new Of Montreal album; it’s by far the most considered analysis on the album I’ve read anywhere so far. Nice work.So are you in for the Burlington blogger love-fest this weekend at the OP? It’ll be no fun without our fearless leader there!

  4. Jeesh, thanks. It’s pretty studious as far as my noitices go. But it felt good to write. What day is said Love Fest? Did you know Candleblog already had one? But they’re the A-team, anyway.I’m trying to get Undead Molly to go, so it won’t be a sausage party. But she’s even more allergic to public interaction than I. Brookezilla should attend, as well.Seriously, I’ll try to be there. What night are we talkin’?

  5. Dear Leader–Not sure yet on the day; it’s up to a vote. Either Friday or Saturday night work for me and JB. If anyone has a preference, let me know tout suite so we can finalize the plans.Since you’re working the ladies (you dawg), see if Eva will be available as well.

  6. Oh I am hearing Dear Leader, but Friday is movie night and Saturday is the Spielpalast fundraiser (which you should ALL come to btw – science experiments, 1/2 neked ladies and finger foods, what more could you ask for?).

  7. Friday night I, too, am otherwise engaged. What the heck is a 1/2 naked lady? A partially nude woman sawed-off at torso? It reminds me of an in-joke between Brooke and I. Our cable listings channel displays that horrible sitcom “Two and a Half Men” as “Two Half Men.” Which we find endlessly amusing for some reason.

  8. I feel like I shouldn’t comment because I’m biased, or there’s some other neutrality issue at play. Plus, we talk about many of your posts IRL. See? Even though I don’t comment, I know the lingo.

  9. IRL… Ignorant Redneck Loser? Immediately Rewritten Legacy? Inspired Romantic Liason?I go it: Infinitely Reasonable Lifecoach.

  10. Infinite Reality Liplock. I love IRL. And I have a confession to make, I love that show Two and a Half Men…I know, I KNOW! It is ridiculous but that Charlie Sheen just cracks me up! and their bitchy housekeeper and horny mother adn the stalker neighbor Rose, seriously, you have to watch to understand my sickness….PS the Spielpalast party may just have some sawed in two ladies as the theme is science experiments, perhaps the Black Dahlia will make an appearance…

  11. It sounds like Saturday might be the best option (except for Eva–we’ll miss you!). Does 9:00 at the OP work?

  12. A non-political blogger meet-up and I can’t go? That sucks with a capital s. I’ll be in Austin rockin’ sxsw interactive/film. Have a good time and take pictures.
